THE MEDICAL LIBRARY of the Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova is specialized in biomedicine and is open to hospital employees and external users for study and research. The Library not only collects and is responsible for the conservation of antique and modern textbooks, books and journals, it also uploads information for consultation by internal and external users via the Internet. Books are stored on open-shelved bookcases, all are well-marked and easily identifiable for reference. The Medical Library is part of the Service for Continuing Education, Clinical Innovation and Medical Library; the head librarian is flanked by library and administrative staff. Assistance is given to users on how to use the card catalogue, how to find texts and journals, and how tu run bibliographical searches. Database research and data reproducibility is also possible.
Library Staff answers queries that arrive by regular post, fax, telephone, and email.
The Library is located in the Rocca Saporiti Complex.
